Product Overview
The Ruijie Intent Network Commander Pro Edition (RG-INC-PRO) is a next-generation network platform launched by Ruijie Networks by following the principles of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and fully embracing the open network strategy. This platform is an embodiment of openness, virtualization, and intelligence. It can manage SDN-based campus networks in terms of terminal access management, operation and maintenance (O&M), egress resource management, and service network planning. RG-INC-PRO is a complete replacement for the traditional campus network deployment model. Through southbound interface protocols such as OpenFlow and NETCONF, RG-INC-PRO manages all network devices in a unified manner to achieve rapid deployment, resource integration, unified planning, and on-demand invocation. Adopting the Java OSGi modular architecture, RG-INC-PRO supports software package-based extension and online component upgrade. Through northbound open APIs, RG-INC-PRO can extend various applications to meet service deployment requirements of metropolitan area networks (MAN), campus networks, and other scenarios.
Product Features
Openness
RG-INC-PRO can realize network-wide device management and control through open and common protocols and standards. It supports open standards developed by the Open Networking Foundation (ONF). By delivering flow tables through the OpenFlow protocol, RG-INC-PRO can control all network forwarding devices that support the SDN technology on the network. It currently supports the latest OpenFlow 1, 2 and 3 and is backward-compatible.
RG-INC-PRO adopts the open RESTful API in the northbound. RESTful API is easy to call and use and complies with the standard HTTP protocol. The caller and the callee are loosely coupled, due to which the traditional complex calling process (such as SDK library-based function loading and identification) can be omitted, and are not subject to the programming platform or language. Therefore, the RESTful API of RG-INC-PRO enables the northbound APIs of the SDN controller to easily dock with cloud platforms, network operation or O&M platforms, big data analysis platforms, and other third-party systems.
Programmability
RG-INC-PRO is highly programmable and provides a series of call interfaces. You can perform interworking with the upper platform and feel the charm of SDN-based networks through detailed call case simulation and learning. By calling the northbound APIs provided by RG-INC-PRO, you can customize network resources, and program multiple applications to define the entire network using this controller. This forms a complete chain consisting of the network, the SDN controller, the customer management, and the O&M systems, and can realize network-wide optimization, control, and management through applications required for different scenarios.
High Availability
RG-INC-PRO supports active/standby and cluster deployment modes. By adopting the cluster deployment mode, the instability brought by a single SDN controller can be eliminated. If multiple controllers form a cluster, as long as there is one controller running on the network, the network is controllable and manageable. Also, if all controllers fail, the original flow table is still available for normal communication among all switches that support OpenFlow. In other words, the failure of the control plane does not affect normal communication at the data plane.
In-Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) is supported for new versions and patch versions.
